Copper coil handle
The traditional acupuncture needle for precise guidance and direct feedback
Around 50 years ago, the copper-handled acupuncture needle was one of the defining needle types in classical acupuncture. Its origins lie in traditional manufacturing: in Chinese workshops, copper was particularly easy to wrap around the needle shaft due to its flexibility. This resulted in a handle that is still valued today for its refined tactile properties.
The coiled copper handle gives the needle a noticeable softness and allows experienced practitioners to guide it with great nuance during treatment. The flexibility of the handle enables fine-tuned control and precision when working with the needle.
At the same time, copper offers high conductivity, which supports its use in warming procedures such as moxibustion as well as in electroacupuncture. This makes this needle type particularly suitable for experienced acupuncturists who value direct feedback, precise control, and traditional handling techniques.
